The context

Novacities set out to create La Menuiserie, a coworking space in Liege designed around sustainable architecture, flexibility, and community engagement.

The building brief included eco-friendly materials, efficient lighting and heating, wood-fibre insulation, and second-life office furniture. The furniture needed to meet high sustainability standards without sacrificing quality or affordability.

What Relieve did

Relieve worked closely with Novacities to understand the vision for La Menuiserie and source more than 80 high-quality second-life furniture pieces that matched the environmental and aesthetic brief.

The team supported consultation, sourcing, logistics, and setup so the final workspace could feel coherent, functional, and aligned with the project values.

The outcome

The project saved 4.9 tonnes of CO2 and rehoused 81 items. It helped establish La Menuiserie as a coworking space where sustainable design is visible in everyday use.

The collaboration shows that green architecture and practical workspace design can reinforce each other when furniture is treated as part of the sustainability strategy from the start.
