VDFin closes the loop with a circular office move

VDFin was preparing to move into a building Relieve had previously cleared for D'Ieteren in Koekelberg. The move created a clear circular opportunity: handle the outgoing furniture from one office responsibly while another company began a new chapter nearby.

VDFin wanted the clearance to avoid waste, keep useful items in circulation, and involve people in the sustainability story behind the move.

Relieve reviewed and sorted the outgoing furniture so each item could be reused, repurposed, redistributed, or prepared for responsible processing. The approach followed a simple principle: no useful article left behind.

The project also supported an employee engagement campaign, helping staff understand where materials were going and how individual items could continue to have value.

The collaboration recovered 333 furniture items and saved 20.9 tonnes of CO2. It helped VDFin move with a clearer sustainability story and a practical reuse route for its old office.

The project also created a rare full-circle moment: one company's departure helped prepare the way for another company's more circular future in the same building.
