Y-Sales creates a distinctive office with circular furniture

Y-Sales is a growing sales and business consulting company based in Watermael-Boitsfort. When the team moved into a new office, it wanted the workplace to reflect both the company's identity and the high-quality positioning of the real estate projects it represents. The office would welcome employees, clients and partners, so the design needed to communicate the same attention to quality and detail that Y-Sales brings to its own work.

The team wanted a professional and distinctive environment without creating a cold or overly corporate atmosphere. Comfort, warmth and opportunities for conversation were central to the brief. Y-Sales also needed to respect the economic reality of a growing business, which meant finding a practical balance between design ambition, quality and budget. Reusing suitable furniture and selecting second-life pieces offered a way to meet these objectives while reducing demand for newly manufactured products.

Relieve began with collaborative space planning to understand how each area would be used and what the team needed from the new workplace. The existing furniture was assessed first, allowing suitable pieces to be retained and integrated into the layout. This preserved value already present in Y-Sales' inventory and focused the sourcing brief on genuine gaps instead of replacing everything by default.

Once the retained furniture had a clear place in the plan, Relieve curated 42 complementary second-life items for the office's working, meeting, social, presentation and outdoor areas. The selection included meeting tables, task and conference chairs, high stools, lounge seating, lighting, whiteboards, planters and outdoor benches. Dimensions, condition, comfort, function and visual fit were considered so that pieces from different previous environments would work together as one coherent interior.

Relieve coordinated the furniture selection as a single project, then managed delivery and installation on site. Combining space planning, existing furniture reuse, circular sourcing and installation reduced the coordination required from the Y-Sales team. It also ensured that each piece arrived in the right area and that the office was ready to support its intended activities from the start. This integrated approach gave Y-Sales one clear process, with the same project team coordinating decisions from the initial layout through to final placement on site.

The completed workplace gives Y-Sales a strong visual identity while remaining functional, comfortable and welcoming in daily use. The team quickly made the space its own, and visiting clients and partners regularly respond positively to the atmosphere. For a business that markets high-quality real estate projects, this coherence matters: the workplace now reflects the same care for design, detail and quality that clients expect from the company.

By combining retained furniture with 42 sourced second-life pieces, the project generated an estimated carbon saving of 930.05 kg CO2 compared with equivalent new furniture. The result shows that a growing company does not need to choose between design, quality, sustainability and budget control. Starting with the space, retaining what still works and sourcing only what is genuinely needed can make circular office design more coherent, practical and valuable.
