Second-hand office lighting in Brussels

Lighting is the category where reuse is least obvious and often most worthwhile, because a well-made luminaire is a housing that outlives several generations of lamp. These come from clearances across Belgium.

What to check on used lighting

The housing is the purchase; the lamp is consumable

A luminaire is a body, a reflector or diffuser and a light source. The body and optics are what you are buying — lamps and drivers are replaceable parts with their own lifespan. Check the listing for the lamp type and whether a driver is included, since that decides what a replacement costs later.

Older fittings may be designed for fluorescent tubes. Many can take an LED retrofit tube, but not all, so treat the fitting type on the listing as the thing to verify with your electrician before ordering in quantity.

Matching an installation

Count fittings against the ceiling, not the room

Suspended and recessed fittings only work with the ceiling they were made for — grid, plasterboard or exposed soffit — and the suspension height changes the spread. Free-standing floor and task lights avoid that constraint entirely and are the simpler reuse if your ceiling is already fitted out.

Delivery to Brussels

Delivered to Brussels; installation is electrical work

These fittings are not stored in Brussels. Delivery to Brussels and the surrounding region is coordinated once an order is confirmed. Anything hard-wired needs a qualified electrician to install, which is separate from delivery and is yours to arrange unless agreed otherwise.
